Event Terms &Community Standards.
1. Age requirement (18+)
The Friendship Fair is curated for adults aged 18 and older. Tickets cannot be issued to minors.
2. Community standards & safe spaces
UPWARD events are designed for everyone to connect without harassment, prejudice, or intimidation. We require all attendees to treat everyone in the room with respect and dignity across all backgrounds, identities, and life circumstances. Any attendee engaging in discriminatory, harassing, or unsafe behavior may be asked to leave without refund.
3. The Connection survey requirement
Research participation through UPWARD Connection is free and separate, and event pre-matching is completely optional. However, completing the brief Connection survey is required for every ticket holder to register and claim their attendee pass. This ensures everyone entering the room has shown genuine care and personal investment in the shared evening.
4. Photography, video & media
The Friendship Fair will be documented through photography and video recording, with select material shared on social media and the UPWARD website following the event. If you or an attendee you purchase for prefers not to appear in media, you can opt out during registration or simply request a non-consent badge or bracelet at the check-in desk so photographers know not to capture your image.
5. Personal responsibility & venue care
Attendees are responsible for their own actions and belongings, and for treating our host venue, installations, and fellow guests with care. Damage caused through negligence or intentional misconduct remains the responsibility of the individual.
6. Ticket allocation & transfers
Tickets are personal once claimed. Unused tickets may be donated back to the community pool or withdrawn by the purchaser in accordance with our fair-ticketing guidelines.
